Boat House Introduces New Menu Items, Just In Time For Spring!

Puckett’s Boat House has given its menu a fresh look for spring, adding additional fresh-caught Gulf seafood items and Southern staples to its existing repertoire!

Taking seafood favorites and adding a Puckett’s twist, our downtown Franklin destination has added more than a dozen dishes featuring local and regional ingredients. Included in the extended menu are gluten-free options and a new “Skinny Menu!”

Of the new offerings are the St. George oysters, sourced directly from the Gulf coast and topped with Puckett’s Boat House pepper sauce and blue cheese crumbles. Customers can also enjoy a fresh peel & eat shrimp skillet, with butterflied Gulf shrimp steamed and tossed in house-made herb butter.

New spring starters also offer an off-the-coast taste: diners can enjoy lightly breaded and fried calamari and lobster bites, both served with a house mango pepper dipping sauce.

Fresh fish offerings run the gamut, such as: grilled or blackened mahi mahi, topped with a fresh mango chutney and served with rice and sautéed veggies; blackened catfish and grits, which includes the signature Boat House chipotle cheese grits; and an ahi tuna steak served alongside asparagus and rice pilaf. The ahi tuna salad is prepared in a similar way, with seared ahi tuna over Asian greens and served with homemade peanut sesame dressing.

And the Boat House didn’t forget about the land lubbers: The mango-glazed chicken served with house mango pepper sauce, sautéed veggies and rice pilaf; and the flank steak ranchero, served over a cheese enchilada topped with ranchero sauce and fiesta rice, are sure to satisfy the hungry.

In addition to the new menu items, the Boat House has introduced a Skinny Menu to customers looking for healthier dishes. Such items include steamed mahi mahi, blackened ahi tuna, an eggplant lettuce wrap and more.

The Boat House gluten-free offerings include signature Cajun dishes such as the mojo wings tossed in a choice of hot, mild or honey jalapeño sauce, a hand-cut Sanibel salmon filet and grilled grouper. Those with celiac can also enjoy many of the eatery’s standard side items, including rice pilaf, creamed spinach, chipotle-cheese grits, sautéed vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, coleslaw and more.

And don’t forget dessert: a chocolate mousse pie replaces the traditional flour crust with one comprised of pecans and dates, and is lightly sweetened with agave nectar for a light and gluten-free treat.

Housed in Franklin’s old Boat Locker at 9 E. Main Street, Puckett’s Boat House is part of the Puckett’s family of restaurants and is downtown Franklin’s only seafood-focused eatery. The Boat House is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a brunch buffet until 1 p.m.
