As the weather gets colder outside, Middle Tennessee’s homeless individuals are put at great risk. That’s why we’ll be holding the “Feeling the Love for Our Community” drive from February 1-14 to collect gloves, blankets and socks!
Along with her husband, our very own Rhonda Schmitz, Director of Store Operations at Hattie Jane’s Creamery, runs an amazing organization called ShowerUp, which provides a place for the homeless community to take a hot shower and take care of their basic hygiene needs. They have two mobile shower units that travel to different areas around Middle Tennessee. The organization says their ultimate mission is “not to make dirty people clean, but to give hopeless people hope. We want to build relationships, help restore hope and dignity, and allow God’s love to flow freely.”
In addition to encouraging A. Marshall Hospitality employees to volunteer and donate to this cause, we want to let the public know that they are free to drop off any quantity of these items in designated collection bins at all Middle Tennessee Puckett’s locations (Columbia, Franklin, Nashville and Murfreesboro), Puckett’s Boat House and both Hattie Jane’s Creamery locations. These items will be distributed by ShowerUp to the people in our communities who need them the most.
We’re so proud of the work that Rhonda and ShowerUp are doing to truly make a difference in the lives of our fellow Tennesseans, and we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish when we stand together! Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
