#PuckettsLoves the Columbia Community!

The holiday season may have passed, but we like to keep the spirit of giving goin’ all year long! Puckett’s Columbia was thrilled to cap off 2017 with donations of more than $2,000 to two local organizations we love: Columbia Main Street and Columbia Academy. In our book, fun events + great food + giving to others = a win, win, win!

Our holiday fundraising event, “Sip, Swirl and Shop,” was all about supporting local businesses on the Columbia square. Our Puckett’s Columbia team organized a classic ladies’ night out with appetizers, wine tastings, music and a special after-hours opportunity to shop from some of our favorite Columbia’s retailers. More than half of ticket sales went to Columbia Main Street, a member of the Tennessee Main Street Program designed to revitalize historic downtown business centers.

On Thursday, Jan. 11, our COO, Claire Crowell, and Puckett’s General Manager Ricki Terry presented a check for $1,760 to Columbia Main Street Executive Director Kristi Martin; Columbia Main Street board member Michele Watson; Columbia Main Street board member and chair of the December event Lisa Butler, and Vickie Kelly, owner of The Balloon Shop in downtown Columbia. Needless to say, the event went down in the books as a huge success and a lot of fun!

In November, we were excited to team up with the incredible students at Columbia Academy who are changing their community by donating tens of thousands of canned goods to local charities each year. Puckett’s Columbia gladly supported their efforts by contributing 10 percent of one day’s sales, which amounted to $626! We loved welcoming students and families into our restaurant to support this great cause, and we happily cheered them on when they raised 82,360 cans, surpassing the original goal of 70,000. Way to go, CA!

Andy Marshall, CEO of A. Marshall Hospitality and Puckett’s Columbia Assistant Manager Christy Anthony, along with A. Marshall Hospitality Marketing and Community Relations Associate Lindsay Curtis, presented the check to the Columbia Academy administration: Lisa Bennett, VP for Development; Ben Diles, Director of Spiritual Development; and Jon Bennett, Upper School Principal.
